Beef Jhal Frazie

"Extraordinarily hot is never tasty," he said. Jalfrezi: A hot curry with green chillies, peppers, onion and tomatoes. Marinated meat is fried in oil and spices to produce a dry, thick sauce. Dating from the time of the Mughals, its name comes from the Bengali word jhal, meaning spicy hot.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup cubed beef (your favourite cut)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup diced green peppers
  • ½ cup chopped spring onions 
  • 1 Jar Thiru’s Jhal Frazie

Cooking Method

  1. Empty Thiru’s Jhal Frazie in a pan
  2. Add beef & water, simmer on medium heat and cover (stir frequently)
  3. Uncover once beef is fully cooked, add in bell peppers
  4. Stir and simmer until gravy is fully reduced
  5. Add cilantro as garnish & serve

Options

Substitute your choice of meat (boneless) instead of beef.
